Habibi Announces New Fall Tour Dates, Including Levitation Festival

Habibi announces new tour dates, including their first New York City headlining show since performing at MoMA last year, at The Sultan Room, on September 3rd, and a performance at Levitation Festival in Austin, TX, with Allah-Las and White Fence, on November 9th. They will also headline Sweet By Sweet Time Festival in Nashville, TN, on August 24th and perform at Otis Mountain Festival in upstate NY, on September 6th. Since their last local headlining show, at the Museum of Modern Art, the five-piece has played support sets at Lincoln Center with Faramarz Aslani, at Le Poisson Rouge with ESG, at Industry City with Bombino, and at BRIC with Y La Bamba. They’ve toured internationally including sets at Strawberry Festival (Beijing & Shanghai, CN), Oh So Slow Festival (Bali, ID), Do Division Fest (Chicago, IL), Supertone Festival (Hudson, NY) and dates in Puerto Rico, Mexico and across Europe. They were also invited by Duke University to participate in their program ‘Building Bridges: Muslims in America’ where they took part in a variety of campus engagements, including visits to classes (“Academic Writing: Women, Activism, Social Change,” “Middle East: Facebook to Film,” “History of Rock”), a workshop with Durham’s Girls Rock after school program, and a public conversation with the college’s Persian Students Association & Muslim Students Association moderated by Duke’s Asian & Middle Eastern Studies professor Didem Havlioglutook.

Habibi prepares the release of a new album in 2020.
